New 04 XLT owner from Mass

Hey all,
New to the site and also the Explorer. I just bought a 2004 Explorer XLT on Monday. So far I love it. Only has 59,277 miles on it. I have quite a lot of plans for her too. New head lights, tail lights, hood, window vents, lift kit, tires, and some interior stuff. If anyone has any good ideas on some stuff I should do let me know. If I like it, I'll consider it.

if they use salt in Mass. be careful with those rims, the salt eats them up good. just gotta clean them any chance you get in winter

Yeah, the salt is a killer. I usually am washing my car once to twice a week in the winter because of it.

I have the same type of truck- 04 v6 XLT . What type of performance mods are available for this truck? I have been doing some searches and have not come up with any real good answers. I was looking at a few websites for an eaton blower kit along with tuners and headers. I previously owned a 12 sec 01 Lightning and I am very comfortable working on them with the Eatons. Could you guys let me know what is available specifically for the 04's???

btw- I LOVE the garnet red and gray combo even better than my white/gray...Nice truck!

For your answers I would definitely recommend you doing a search in the 2002-2005 modified explorer mountaineer forum. They have a lot of stuff in there. good luck!

im live in boston, im in dorchester now but originally from "southie". id be glad to help you with any info i can regarding mods to your truck. ive come upon some usefull info since ive had mine

Cool. I've got some stuff I think I am going to start saving for to mod it. Not much, maybe a new hood, headlights, tail lights, window vents, maybe a small lift and a little bit bigger tires and rims, exhaust, then some minor video mods inside.

Have you done anything to yours?
