After learning so much from this forum I'm starting to branch out and try to fix other people's AC systems now, so I bought some parts to try and referb the AC on my brother's car (not a Ford!) including a new receiver-drier (instead of an accumulator, Chrysler system). I know it contains a desiccant to absorb moisture and should not be unsealed until it's ready to be installed, but I was picking it up and accidentally pulled one of the plugs out as I was doing so. There was a quick hiss noise like it was under pressure and I immediately resealed it within a second, but I'm wondering if that amount of time was enough to ruin it. I probably won't be able to install it until this upcoming weekend at the soonest since USPS lost the O-ring kit I ordered.

So can I still use it, or should I order another one anyway since I still have to order O-rings too? It wasn't too expensive.

It should be OK add about 1/2 to your normal vacuum time.
