Are the ITPS + PW-70a working for you? Thats what I started with and never liked how it worked, and the lack of true 12v regulation. I am now using a 90W PS from Opus Solutions and it works awesome.

I need to mount my MoBo like that. . .I want my glove box back.

How do you like the Lilliput screen? I'm looking to upgrade my 7" to a true VGA touchscreen.

You guy's looking into carputers need to look at mp3car.com. Lots of info there.

Thats sweet man! how much did all that run you? Very cool install job as well! Props!

It was about $650 overall. About half of it was for the touchscreen, though. I also already had the hard drive, bluetooth, and 802.11.

As jnealg said; www.mp3car.com. The ITPS basically "pushes" the power button for you. My system is configured to go into hibernate when that happens.

The ITPS/PW-70A has been working fine for me. Note, though, that I'm basically only running the motherboard and laptop drive with it. I had originally tried with a 3.5" drive, but there was too much voltage drop with the ITPS unless the engine is running (which is what the Opus fixes). The PW-70A is much cheaper, though, and unless you have 12V gear it shoudl work fine.

It's pretty clear and responsive. It does get washed out in direct sung/glare, though.
I've also had to recalibrate it a couple of times, but that may be from going from near freezing at night to toast-warm with the heater on.

It continues to grow...

Got GPS installed, now.

New pics at the bottom of the gallery page.

How much would it cost to have someone just install it for you? I would love to do it but I'm not that computer literate.

There's actually a lot of labor involved in doing this, and there's going to be differences between vehicles. If you were able to find a shop able to do it, you'd probably pay through the nose. If you have somebody else do it, you get to worry about "oopses".

I don't mind changing and possibly breaking my own vehicle, but I wouldn't want to do it to/for somebody else.

Am I finally done?

Yet more pictures with new ones at the bottom.

About the only thing that's left is webcam (really doubt I'll do that) and getting OBD-II scanner/software for real-time monitoring of engine functions.

I've been designing one for a few months now. I'm making a custom console over the tranny hump to hide the motherboard and such... I'm still torn on the screen though. I've thought about a in-dash motorized touchscreen or a regular lilliput fiberglassed into the new center console. Price diffrence is huge though. In dash is like 500-600 bucks, versus the lilliput for 300.

The reason for the custom console is this:

I want to keep my nice kenwood stereo that has Aux in, sirius radio, etc. If i get the in dash screen, the stereo would go in the center console. If i get the screen the stereo goes in the stock location... Anyone seeing anything i should watch out for if i do this? is there some HVAC stuff in the way down there somewhere?

Nice install! I recently started removing my system out. I had the 10K via itx board, opus 150 ps, and hard drive mounted under the center console. GPS and bluetooth antenna in the dash. I put the screen in the radio bezel and moved the hu to the ac controls.

Where did the A/C controls go?
