Hey man, I have had the same questions as you did, looking for just a tad bit of lift. From what all the experienced guys you can get about 2" in the front from a TT (tortion twist) by just turning 2 bolts and for the back using shackles or add-a-leafs. After both are done, get an alignment and you are good to go. TT is free and the other 2 options shouldn't run you over $200 if you do the work yourself. CHeck out my thread, lots of awsome info these guys gave me: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=87475
