New Engine?

Threw A Control Rod That Went Through Part Of Engine. Do I Spend $$ To Get A Rebuilt Engine Or Look For A New Car? This Model Is 4x4 And Had A Little Over 102k On It For Milage.

WEB, you threw a connecting rod at 102,000 miles?!!! Did you ever change the oil? Did you beat the living HELL out of it?!!!

Is it the 3.0 or 4.0? Either engine is good for at LEAST 200K miles!!!

My 1988 FORD Ranger 2.9L had 273 THOUSAND....HARD miles on her when she blew. That's FORD for ya...the BEST quality block out of the Big 3 = many more miles. Ask ANY unbiased machine shop.
