new exhaust for 98 v8

next week i plan on going and getting a new exhuast for my x.. i was wondering.. i think i want to get a 40 series flowmaster but i was wondering what size pipe ishould run out the back. what is the best performance wise..?

You can go anywhere from 2.5", 2.75", or even 3". Hmmm V8, I would go with 3". Hope this helps. Also ask the muffler shop who is putting in what they think.
