1998 Eddie Bauer Explorer
Hey, I have a V-6 1998 Eddie Bauer Explorer. I have just been thinking about redoing my exhuast system, I am currently working on the appearence (rims, brushgaurd, tinted windows) and the interior (system). I dont like the sounds from my catalytic converter when my car starts and when i am driving. Kinda makes me car sound like sh*t but its runs well, just doesnt sound that great. I asked the dealer to check it out and said they can do nothing about it, I dont know if they tried replacing it but I think I wanna get a new exhuast system than the standard exhaust I got. I was wondering which system would go good with a V-6, dont have the money to upgrade my X to a V-8. I also dont know anything about the exhaust systems except they will make the car sound better and add some horsepower. I've heard that I should get a flowmaster or a cat pack. Can you please tell me which is better, or if there is another good one that hasnt been brought to m attention and if you could explain what a cat pack is. I dont know where to look, I did checkout the flowmaster website. Thanks for your help.

A Flowmaster is a brand of muffler. A Cat Back is an exhaust system from the cat to the tail pipe.

I would recommend going to a local muddler shop and hacing them make a custom cat back for you.

Good luck.....

You can never go wrong with a Borla exhaust.

My recommendations, it might give you an idea of what exactly is under there:

In that thread is also info on the intake. I recommend you modify the intake as well as exhaust.
