Hello

First - this forum is amazing and I have spent the last 3 days on it since by broker found a good 03 Explorer for me instead of the Jeep I was looking for. Feel very good about this choice after reading many posts and listening to people talk.

Picking up my first Explorer in 3 days from broker. 2003 Blue XLT with 91k miles. Car is in great shape outside and inside. I am mainly concerned about engine and transmission.

They are replacing wipers and brake pads but I wanted some advice on anything else I should get done before I pay for it. I test drove it and didn't hear the rear end whine so I am assuming that this car doesn't have that problem, but should I have them do the work on TSB 05-23-3? At the very least have them change the fluid to what is recommended?

Also, going to ask them to replace PCV, Fuel, Plugs and Wires while they are at it. That way I know its good on that point.

Car was one owner and not driven off road. I am picking up as a bigger car for family and will mainly use it to drive to rail station each day.

Anything else I should be thinking of and/or asking to be repaired? I just want to make sure I drive off ready for another 100k of driving. :)

Thanks for your input!

And what would be the first addition to this vehicle you would make?
