new explorer to me

hey all, i recently blew up my 90 pathfinder, v6 4x4, it was badass, 7 inches lift in the front, 9 in the rear and 35s, it went due to a bad fan clutch, overheated and cracked the block and warped the heads. my mom went out nad bought a new durango, its super nice , so she gave me her 94 explorer, should i keep it, i have money for 4-6 inches suspension and 3 inch body and tires and wheels, i dont like the fact i hear they have faulty trannies, and i do not like the push button 4x4, other then that can yall help me out on making a decision to sell it for a yota pickup or 150/bronco or lift it. thanks

As far as the TC goes. Swapping in a Manual from a Ranger or another Explorer with a manual is just unbolting the old, and bolting in the new. And then running the linkage.

As far as the trannies. AA is coming out with a swap for a Chevy 700R4. The kit is approx. the cost of 2 A4LD rebuilds. Another weak spot is the auto hubs. Which can also be swapped out for Warn Manuals.

Thats most of the stuff I know, Its prolly not much but I have a '95 which is a lot different. So I say lift it

its got 118,x.. miles, no evident problems, but i do not like push button 4x4, i have only owned two pathfinders, and a cj-7 in the past and want to stick with manual 4x4, so thats a downside. and it doesnt handle or feel like my pathy or toyotas i have driven, its just a free truck, im wondering if its worth putting money into , orselling it for a yota pickup. keep in mind i am a college student who loves his 4wheeling and camping/hunting so i need the 4x4 for my property, but i need dependability too....any and all help would be well appericiated it.

i'd say keep, its a free truck aint it?, plus a lot of guys here have done alot to their x's, to build it up. its a great truck if you read up on it

i think ima get my friends full size bronco for 2500 and sell the x for about 4500 or 5k and use the money to lift the bronco, or sell the bronco for more and get a yota. thanks fellas, anyone wanna buy an explorer, dark green, grey interior, 6 cylinder, excellent mechanical condition, let me know
