New guy-> 98 sport, CEL, stalls when in drive

I trailered the truck home, and borrowed an OBDII code scanner...

If I post codes here, can anyone help out with those??

Ok I got the codes.

First scan:
P1747 EPC short
P0743 TCC Elect fault
P0750 Shift sol a fault
P0755 Shift sol b fault
P0760 Shift sol c fault
P0765 Shift sol d fault
P1451 Evap sys vent ctrl valve fault
P0135
P0155
P1000

After clearing the codes, we did a recan with the engie off:

P1747
P0743
P0750
755
760
765
P1451
P1409
P1000

So I should start with the P1747 EPC solenoid, right?

Either your PCM is fried, or you have a transmission problem. That would explain why it dies when you put it in gear.

With all of those transmission codes, I'd check the wiring harness and plugs going to the transmission.

I have a 98 sport sohc that is sorta doing the same thing right now.

only mine will run fine except after long drives (over 50 miles) after coming to a stop it will stall out in drive. but will restart no problem, but will stall again when put in drive.
I let her idle alittle bit check the tranny fluid level; and everything else and she seemed fine tried drive again and she drove.

thats my post

getting codes checked tomorrow,

Have a feeling after checking haynes repair manual it's this egr valve malfunctioning and that or the idle control sensor. we shall see.
I don't have a check engine light or any white smoke and my trucks got like a 152k on it so.
we might have different problems,

just thought I would thow in my .02
