I have a 91 XLT 4x4 5spd...
I came up with a plan to upgrade my front brakes... I am a Brake and Alignment technician for a company in Washington so I think this may work...

Now a 95' to I think 97' or 98' Ranger with 4x4 TTB.... I was thinking of taking the brakes from that vehicle and putting them on my X... I know I will have to swap out the steering knuckle and spindle to use a bolt on caliper instead of the current slide keeper style.... This will give me a 3/4 inch larger rotor plus a dual piston caliper... the inner and outer bearings are the same from model to model... SKF BR37 bearing set and SKF 24917 inner seal... my main question is if anyone had done this because I haven't seen or heard anything on this... Will my current Warn manual hubs work.... I know the lower ball joint is the same but the upper one calls for a different part number but takes the same alignment cam bushing. Any thoughts or ideas anyone?
Thank you for your time :exp:

If it works, you will also have to run 16" wheels to accommmodate the larger diameter rotors.

Spdrcer34 put 13" Cobra brakes on his 1st Gen but his is 2wd. Search for it.

BTW, welcome to EF

I already have 18" wheels... thanks
