New guy with an ABS issue

First of all I would like to say hello. My name is Ryan and I recently bought a 2001 Sport 2wd. It is white and has all the options except 4wd and leather. I normally post on www.anti-rice.com under the name Cowboy, but a member there told me about this site so I came on in.

Now down to the issue. When I first got my explorer it needed brakes up front. So working a an auto parts store I got them at a decent price and paid a shop to put them on. as soon as I left there the ABS light came on. as it turned out the right side rotor had the plate pressed to far into the rotor, and the abs sensor wasnt getting a signal. So I had them put on a differant rotor and this time I chacked it and it was good. The light never came back on, but now when I go to stop about half the time when Im about stopped the abs kicks in. I am not sure where to go from here, except maybe pull apart the drivers side and check it out too. but there is no lights on. I did a mild search and couldnt find anyting related to this issue. Does anybody have any clue?

Give us a little more detail of what you feel and the symptoms ?

I think it maight possibly be the drivers side rotor that could be the worng one. but thats just a guess. Its usually right about when im stopped (2-5mph) that the pedel drops and i get the clicking usually associated with abs

This has actually been a common brake issue with the Explorers. I believe most of the time it is a faulty wheel speed sensor. Search around on the boards (using the search option) to figure out exactly what sounds like your problem.
