1992 Eddie Bauer Edition
Hey guys, found your site through google and figuered I would register and post seeing as I am recently the owner of a 1992 Eddie Bauer edition Explorer with 132k. The truck is mainly for my girlfriend but I'll pretty much be driving it as much so I guess it will be my "daily driver" as well, apart from my 2007 VW GTI with some mods on it:D

But anyways Ill try to keep it short but I do have some questions. First off I found this guy on craigslist in my aread the other day for $1800, and as of yesterday we put a down payment on it and are going to pick it up Monday night:). It's got 132k as mentioned before with a whole plethora of parts replaced, fluids changed and overall in great shape. The body of the truck is extremley clean, the rockers are in perfect shape, there are no dents, but there is some slight clearcoat peel on the hood/roof but I can deal with it and Ill buff it out soon.

The only bad thing is that according to the owner the headunit(which is OEM) stopped working within the alst week and is pretty sure that a fuse needs to be replaced? Any of you guys know exactly if this is true? I plan on getting her a new head unit in a couple of months anyways so this will be a temporary fix. Also the passenger side/rear passenger windows have trouble rolling up and are off track, but I know this is a common issue so it will be fixed soon.

I was also curious as to if the 92's came with the keypad keyless entry system? When my lady goes to pick up the truck Monday night Ill tell her to ask the P.O about it and see, but incase we come up empty handed I've been reading up on google and Im trying toa void going to the dealer for this, but do you guys have any insight on this issue of how to reset it?

Anyways sorry to ramble on but here are some quick pics of the truck I snapped yesterday after leaving a down payment, oh and heres one of my GTI for fun too, and I'll definatley be posting around alot more once I become familiar with the truck:)

When I bought my ex almost 3 years ago the radio would turn off and on all by itself...it was sssppppoookkkyyyy. HaHa, anyways....I received a CD player and new speakers for exmas this year and decided to have it professionally installed. I'm glad I did because the wiring from the previous install was home brew. The wires were exposed and were all loose. The professionals had to "hard wire" in a new harness. So, now everything is good and stereo sounds great. Just be aware if the stereo in it is an aftermarket piece. Congrats on the new ex, the people on this site are very knowledgeable, but make sure to use the search button.

Will do, and weve already decided to replace the headunit, a good buddy of mine is giving us an awesome deal on a Dual headunit that he bought for his old 2006 GTI but never installed, it never even left the box...60 bucks, not too bad I say.

Im looking around the site for the window motor issue, and Im even thinking about swapping the wheels for the 5 spoke twist style ones.
