I recently replaced all my plugs & plug wires on my '95 x with motorcraft parts. The next day, my check engine light came on. It will go off when the ignition is reset, but I noticed thet the temp hand runs up mid-way between middle and H, then drops suddenly to the other end of the scale. Could this be causing my check engine light to come on? and how can I replace it if needed?

Replacing the thermostat is not very hard. It really helps if you have weak miget hands. You have to remove the thermostat housing. There are three bolts holding it and space is very limited. Also be very careful not to strip the thread when replacing. The bolts are just slightly more than finger tight. I used a bit of sealant to keep the bolts tight. If there is a bypass valve on the thermostat make sure it is aliened properly.

unfortunately, I jhave gorilla hands. I'll try to be easy, but do you think that this could releive the warning light from coming on? Is there a sensor I could unplug to find out? Thanks
