I have been thinking and i came up with the either the smartest or the dumbest way to go slow.. put a muncie sm465 four speed transmission behind the a4ld (divorced) with a dana 300 cj t-case but do a 4:1 low range with a twin stick on the dana 300.
A4LD first gear- 2.48:1
Muncie 4spd first-6.65:1
Dana 300 low range-4:1
Axle Ratio 5.13:1
Final drive-342:1.
I saw this in a toyota land cruiser and since its a 2nd tranny not the primary, theirs no need for a clutch and you have a 1to1 4th gear(you wouldnt loose street ability). advice/input wanted
