Ok, coming up, in about a month I am doing a 2 inch body lift. I also am doing the 2 inch skyjacker lift. I know I will have to get the front aligned. But I am going to get new shocks too. Probably Rancho 5000's. Im not sure how they size shocks. I know I want 2-3 inches over stock. I would rather have 3 inches over stock, but will that fit? And how do I order them? Im just not experienced with shocks, thanks!

now for what you're doing you don't need new shocks. I've done it and still kept factory ones.

BUT! now I'll be putting a 4" lift and was wondering how do I solve this issue???? RS9000? perhaps you guys have other ones in mind?

Later,

It probably isn't absolutley necessary, however, it is reccommended that you replace the shocks after the two inch lift. If you do any sort of offroading that would push the suspension, it would probably be wise to replace the shocks. I just recently installed the Skyjacker 2 inch lift on a Ranger and was recommended by Skyjacker and other members of this site to upgrade the shocks.

Ok thanks... but I know I want to upgrade the shocks. I just want the anwsers to the questions from my first post. Thanks

According to Rancho.. The Rancho rs9000 shocks for the rear of a first generation explorer are the same length for stock and for their 2.5" lift. The front shocks on the other hande should be changed when you go from stock to their 2.5" lift.
