Hi I'm a new member from illinois, Chicago area. I have a 1996 ford ranger xlt regular cab. It has the 2.3L inline four and the 4r44e automatic transmission, I recently had a check engine light and the code read as a P0761 "shift solenoid c performance/stuck off" I was wondering how difficult this solenoid is to get to and if it would be worth taking it to a shop or setting aside a day on my weekend to fix. Thanks for any help in advance!

Welcome to this forum! It's in the valve body of the transmission but the code could be caused by other things such as a bad internal wiring harness, corrosion in the bulkhead connector, etc.
