2011 explorer limited 4wd
Hello all I'm an owner of a 2011 Ford explorer limited. I just come on here to get some tips and tricks for my limited also to find out about the water pump issues. Water pump went out on me a couple days ago now I got water in my oil car won't run just checking to see if maybe there's some kind of recall or lawsuit going on I can jump aboard.

No, I had this explorer for 7 years and had no issues with it, except with the air conditioner. I always kept the oil changed and checked fluids. When the water pump went out it didn't even over heat according to the temperature gauge. Are these water pumps ran by the timing chain as well?

There was a lawsuit but it didn't do much regarding payout to those affected by the water pump problem in the 5th gens. The 3.5L engines are very durable otherwise so going with a low mileage used engine might be a good option for you.

Thanks for the reply. I just got a quote for the water pump and the Ford garage wants $2100 to fix. That's if nothing else is messed up.
