A fuel pump was just installed in my 1995 explorer limited 6 cyl and now my truck trembles a lot. I will take it back to the mechanic but would like some ideas of the cause first, if possible. Thanks

Hi and thank-you. Glad to be here.
I don't know what kind of fuel pump or filter they used but they were not OEM parts as they said they couldn't get them anymore for my 1995. So these are aftermarket parts. Yes they changed both and installed the sending unit that came with the pump also.
Since these are Winnipeg suppliers the ID # SPI SP6040H fuel pump assembly (with sending unit) may not reflect anything familiar to you.
I was about to look for the location of the fuel filter in my Haynes to see if it is near the power-steering-pump. If it's been knocked about it gets the shakes.
If I can see picture of the filter and it's position and can find it in my motor, I'll know if it's in correctly. It feels differently starting too. As if it is taking less fuel to start, which might be a good thing altho the fuel pressure needs to be correct. doesn't it?

The filter is underneath the vehicle, and not near the engine compartment.

Yeah, the fuel filter should be on the rear side of the vehicle usually by the gas tank.

Thanks to you both. I know it's on the drivers side. I'll find it.
A friend just said that everything is probably done alright and that the calibration is off.
What does that mean?
This is the May long weekend here so contacting the garage that did the work has to wait till Tuesday. Since the fuel filter might have a big arrow on it showing the correct way to install it, I think experienced mechanics can probably do it. I can't trace the shaking that goes on while the car is running, most noticeable when idleing. Any suggestions?

I'll see what I can do. Thanks.
