Just wanted to introduce myself, names Rob and I live near Houston/Galveston Texas. Just recently picked up a 1996 Explorer XLT 4X4 in trade for a set of used BMX racing cranks. LOL. It had been inherited after a death by a buddy and he wanted his back yard real estate back. I've already gotten some good info from members on here and I've begun doing a few repairs/upgrades to make it a little more fun. So far I've installed a new battery, new fuel pump, replaced a broken O2 sensor, and a damaged EGR valve which allowed me to get it inspected and on the road. Purchased a set of headlight/turn signal/marker lights off Amazon and installed them. I also started replacing squeaky things in the front end(both upper control arms) and have new lower ball joints and tie rods that will go in soon. I used to work for a local offroad shop so I ordered a Ranger body lift that I will hopefully get around to installing along with some inexpensive wheels and tires. Hope to share some progress pics as I go along. Here's what "Dora" looked like the day I got her running.
