Tommy explorer here
I am new to this site.
I have a 1998 explorer with a 4.0 sohc and around 270,000 mi and am having some problems with the heat.
have checked everything I could think of:
Drained ,flushed and refilled coolant
Changed thermostat
Flushed heater core (in both directions)
Checked air flow door behind the glove box
and last I checked the control valve in the engine compartment
All seem to be working properly, the temps in Michigan are getting cooler and am running in the passenger compartment at around ambient temps.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I know you said you checked behind the dash, but it sure sounds like a blend door issue or possibly a heater control valve issue.

Welcome to the forum:chug:

Thanks
blend door was jammed. preformed surgery and got a temp fix till spring when I'll have more time to pull dash and replace tempeture blend unit.
(thanks for Junkyards)
