Glad to hear that your liking it. How much are you burning your tires off from a stop in 1st gear?

Hey I forgot to ask you, what is the box code (4 digit code not the 7 digit strategy code) of your PTEC computer? I am going to try to get together a databse of the 3rd gen Explorer code together. I just want to see if I will be able to tune your computer with my Advantage software or not.

Have not nailed it from a dead stop yet. But acctuuuaalllyy last night I thought a bus was coming at me and i nailed it from about 4mph and she just jumped, no where near any wheel spin, im not sure if i floored it or about 3/4 but my brother was in the car and he said....... "THIS THING IS A MONSTER", they call me Mad Max. lol

Ill send you my CAL code.

well it was pouring rain yesturday and said "ok", lets see if this thing will peel out. I nailed it going around a turn and nothing... sticks like its on rails still, im sure I could get it a little sideways if I really tried but it didnt do it this time. Then I was at a parking lot and I stomped on it from a dead stop while I was over some really slippery tile type concrete squares, and nothing.... water and everything... just shot out like a cannon. Even did my first WOT from 1st to 2nd in the rain and no wheel spin on the shift.

Its going to be really hard to loose traction with the traction control and the 295's. It might be a different story though with the 2300ax and a 2,800 stall.

Yes it will be.

man she pulls like a jet from like 60 to 90mph. Third gear puts you to the seat harder and harder from like 4,500 rpms to 6,000... the little M90 seems to be holding up pretty well... I dont see any drop in boost. Maybe its the cams taking over at those rpms and helping the little eaton... Im really anxious now to upgrade to 9psi.... :)

Hey Rocket,

I just ordered my 90mm Lighting MAF so I can put the 9psi pully on. Cant wait!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!???? That LMAF will be just great for your current setup, but will peg long before you get allot of boost running through the 2300ax. Man you really might want to consider getting an SCT BA 2400 instead. It will peg allot later, if at all, and has better resolution. I don't mean to tell ya what to do but I would imagine that you would want to build for the future and buy certain parts only once. Do you plan on running the MAF xtender or something?

On another note it is cool that your ordering a bigger MAS! I cannot wait to see what kind of numbers (rwhp/rwtq & E.T.) it puts down.

Yeah I know ill peg it with the 2300ax and the SCT BA is the ticket... but in all honestly it will be some time before I get the 2300ax... I picked up the Ford Racing unit for $89 shipped!!! Saving $176 will go a long way for me right now ;)

When im ready to fork out 4,500 for the ax another little $275 is not going to break me ;)

I watch my boost stop at 4.5 and I really want to feel it climb up another 5psi... Hoping its a big difference... heck it might not be that much different!!! I think ill have much more torque gain than hp.

That should be good for another 34% (100hp) increase! You will feel it. ;)

Oh, wait a minute. Your already pullied for 6 psi but seeing 4.5 due to your big bore and worked heads. Ok so the increase would be 20.5% (60hp) roughly.

Any updates?

How bout a 700 club

Well when I throw on the 2300ax, some race fuel and a 20# pully... ill be in the 800 club ;)

Updates:

Going on 600 miles. Still tuning with xcal2 and wideband. SCT has my file now im waiting for a tune. She is running like a dream, just the fine tunning now. Still having a bit of heating problem though. Im going to go 1/4 ani-freeze and 3/4 distilled water with water wetter. Also getting the Grant COPs and going for the Snow Performance water/meth boost. I really need it due to such high temps and such bad gas here.

But the drivetrain is holding up great so far (knock on wood). I should have my 90mm MAF in the mail tomorrow and do the install over the weeknd.

I have two kills under my belt!!! Not concidered bragging rights, but I can tell you this... if I was in stock form they would had both probably barely beat me.

First was my budding X5, with the 3.0 motor. Mid 2nd and part 3rd gear run... just got farther and farther in my rear view mirror. My other friend called me out with his 4.8L X5. I said sure... so next time we see eachother we are lining up.... im going to ask for a rolling start though... im not about to break my tranny now. This race will give me a good idea of where im at... those 4.8L X5's are a 5.9 0-60 and high 13sec 1/4 times. Ill have my 9# pully next time I see him.

My other kill was greaaat. Man my blood was pumping... I got home and I was still shaking for about 20 minutes from the adrenaline and excitment. Thats when you know you have race blood running through your veins... :)

My friend just got a 1998 Audi A6 AWD Quattro Tiptronic. He always tells me how quick and fast it is.... we left a parking lot and I was behind him... he slows down and rolls down his windows and he says to me "un jaloncito no?" means... "lets do a little run?". I of course said suuuure... we were doing about 10-15mph... I dropped her in low, RPMs came up to about 4k... we looked at eachother and stomped on it... Thats the first time ive done this and I could not beleive the power and torque... INSTANTLY I pulled about an entire car length, it was pretty funny, the sound of the motor and exhaust scared him and his girlfriend.. I could see it in their faces... we were side by side and I just saw his face disapear out the back of my window.. lol... I then popped it in second and I looked at my rear view mirror and before I was barely finishing 2nd I think he was about 3 car lenths back and I was loosing him at that fast of a pace... it was awsome.

I slowed down and he was lauphing his ass off and he sais "NO MAMES WEY, ESTA DE POCA MADRE, ES UN PINCHE CUETE"... traslated "NO FU**IN WAY MAN, THAT IS FRICKIN AWSOME, ITS A FR**IN ROCKET"... I was lauphing in tears... It was such a nice feeling. Finally a good running motor. And this guy saw all my suffering with my last builds. Much much joy in that run.

So I get home and the first thing I did was look for that car on the internet... I was so excited it would hopefully be a pretty quick car... and I come to find out it does 0-60 in 8.8secs, ive even seen it reveiwed at 7.9, and 1/4 in 16.6. So its really not a fast car, my Explorer in stock form would had been a nice race. BUT I did absolutly smoke it... by the pace I was pulling him I feel safe to say I was about 3 seconds quicker than him. And that was just with the 5# pully and a bad tune.

When I told him I was still putting the 9# pully next week he said your crazy... lol

Once im tuned with the 9# pully im calling my bro out in his 2001 996 Carrera. Cant wait.

Whoa there! One step at a time bro. hehehe By the way that 600 club is hp measured to the wheels not none of that crank crap.

I hope that number is at the crank. lol. Just checking. hehe.

Dude your X in stock form would have taken him no prob. I know mine is a tad lighter due to being 2wd and all but I ran into the 15's with light mods no problem. Bone stock the X was pulling 16.0 on a real hot day w/ 20's on. Cool spring day it would have went 15.9's easy. I guess what I am trying to say is that the Audi guy never stood a chance against a stock X let alone a highly modded one like yours. :D

I raced a stock 04-05 GTO the other day. I know I would have taken him if I had actually gotten traction. It had started to sprinkle about 3 minutes right before the race so the roads were slicker than we had hoped for. Lets just say he got traction waaaay before I did. :D

Not sure if its crank or wheels:

lol... thats the worst time for traction.. a misted or non-washed out street... can be dangeroulsy slippery.

Yeah my truck bone stock is about 350pnds heavier than you... I pulled about 16.5's more or less. But even then its a very quick SUV. I only lost one race to some new Jag... we were dead on ultill about 40.. then he pulled about a nose to about 70 and then we both laid off. Most cars I beat with my stock X were just slow pulls... just creeping ahead and after the entire run your about a car length ahead... I pulled about a full car length about every 2.5 seconds this time.

You talking about a new Pontiac GTO? That would be a kill to admire. The 05' GTO is about .5sec faster than the 04' though, to 60mph and 1/4 mile.

I can tell you that number wasn't reached @ only 20 psi boost. With 20 psi on your setup you should see probably 625rwhp/650rwtq or so.

I really don't know what year it was. My buddy whom was one of two people was riding with me at the time told me but I forgot. It was either 04 or 05. Yeah in 05 they switched from the 345 hp rated LS1 engine to the 400 hp rated LS2 engines in those GTO's. Either way with a good launch I should be able to give even the LS2 GTO's a run for their money, though I should lose unless the driver isn't too great. Apparently they are total PIGS to launch!

Yeah those LS2 are quick. I dont know if their dogs from 0-30 but they can get to 60 in about 4.8secs. Mid 13sec car. I should give it a run for its money right now at 5# MAYBE.

Dont know all the specs of the motor they used to get 800hp but I asked and they said it was a stock bore and stroke. My motor is basically as strung out as you can get them, unless I went with more agressive cams. 800hp seems a lot... Tell me where do you think they can squeeze another 150hp if I got 650 with that setup WITH a BB? Another 10% of drivetrain and exhaust gain on the bird still would only be about 715hp.

Maybe the extra 4#'s and some good race fuel would do wonders at that boost level.

My BB might make up for the Birds more agressive cams making us close on just motor hp.

Im sure im about 15% down on power from just my drive shafts, 4wd, shortys, longer exaust and wheels.

800 Bird hp - 15% = about 680hp... so yeah your right.

Blower manufacturers always over rate their max outputs. Prime example was Kenne Bell with their 1.7 chargers. They were saying crap like 500+rwhp and 18 psi!!! Yeah right!!! lol. Those little fella's run out of steam at 450 with decent mods. Vortech is the same way. Whipple also does this too. Your BB will not net you as much horsepower as it will net you torque. That is where you will see your gains from. Like I said, I would expect you to be pushing low 600's to the wheels with your combo @ 20 psi or so. With race gas, aggressive tune, and boost cooler maybe hitting mid 600's to the wheels. Definately not 800 to the wheels though. Whipple is selling a friggin pipe dream on that one! lol.

I'm not trying to piss in your Cheerio's, I am just tyring to steer you away from taking these exaggerated manufacturer numbers for fact. The only way you or I will reach 800rwhp is on a shot of nitrous on top of extensive mods before that. And forged rods will not last at that power level anyways, even the badass H beams.
