I engaged the 4WD on my '93 in a field yesterday just to loosen things up, after not having used it for several months. Even after disengaging and reversing direction to unlock the autohubs, I'm now hearing a pulsing noise when I turn the wheels, very rythemic sound.
If the hubs are disengaged, everything should be motionless except for the rotor turning on the spindles, right? I know my ball joints are a little sloppy, and my u-joints up front might also need to be changed, but that stuff shouldn't come into play when I'm out of 4WD and not spinning any of the front end components.
I haven't tried yet to reingage the 4WD to make it go away, I need to at least find a gravel parking lot for that.
Any ideas?
