Changed DPFE because of code po401. Now I have Po171 and po174.

Ok so I know that Po171 is System too lean (Bank 1)

and P0174 System too lean (Bank 2).

So what does this mean?

I've heard that this could be lower intake manifold gaskets? Could be upper gaskets?

I've got the timing chain rattle going on at 2500-3000 RPM. Could this be related?

Truck is just over a week old and I've got problems. Thanks Sales guy!

I should mention too that I have a very bad idle.

Anyone? Bump to the top for the morning crew.

Reset codes last night and then cleaned MAF, IAC and checked for vacumn leaks. There was no vacumn leaks and IAC, MAF looked ok. This morning, Idle is better, not as jumpy but it's still erratic. No codes but we'll see when I go home this afternoon.

Would there be any reason that I would have only one code, po401, change out the DPFE sensor and then after changing this part, reset the computer and then get 2 different codes that weren't there previously? This is what has me stumped.

I'll start searching for Intake stuff though. Thanks.

I think I may be fixed now. We have a delivery van at work that we took into to get the cel checked out on Thursday. It's a Ford. Ford Dealer says it's po171 and po174.(Same thing I have!) Ford dealer replaced the MAF sensor and all is good with our work van.

I get home and look at the MAF. I clean it and reinstall it. While I'm there I clean the IAC, and replace the plugs and wires. Disconnected the battery to reset codes and now CEL hasn't been back on since Thursday! Disonnected battery may have cause my 4x4 to not work though. Click here for my 4x4 thread.
