New owner.. My Key is dumb.. found a bypass.. may be a genius.. probably not..

I'm new to ford period.. I just recently purchased a 2013 Limited.. the dealership gave me two keys one of which is completely and totally not for my vehicle after all my troubleshooting and new car doohicky playing around and finding out how she works I accidentally activated the My Key setting on the on the fob that does work for the car.. to sum up this rambling I found that if you take the fob and roll down the window..stuck your arm out the door fully extended.. when you kill the car with the push button and it gives you that option "Restart Now Or Key Is Needed" and your hanging your arm out the window and fire it back up.. Bam.. ESAD...My Key bypassed.. no more Limited to 75 mph like whoevers child this car was before... yall might already know this but I thought it was ingenious and figured someone else might want to know this.. that's all I got.. stay classy guys..

You can disable the MyKey feature in the Settings if you have the Admin key.

Got one of the admin keys it's been neutered and I have to have the other one in order to bring it up. The my key options in the settings are no longer there at all no matter how I start it up

The reason the MyKey option is not showing in the Settings is that you don't have an active Admin key. Once you have an Admin key, the option will show up. The dealer should have and can reprogram it. It is always best to have 2 working keys.

OK I see.. well the one key they've given me definitely doesn't even go to my vehicle. Put fresh batteries in it and that good stuff. Nothing.. their answer to my query about just figuring out the mix-up with the keys and just switching them out was to refer me to their "key guy" and I've yet to contact him but if they think I'm footing the bill for it that's gonna be an interesting conversation to say the least. Especially if I call the bluff and start hitting that unlock button and go ride off the lot with another explorer or an F-150.
Lol... but really though..
