New pics of the orange bodydropped Sport

i just think lowered explorers look like station wagons.

james- i've noticed that are trucks are starting to drift apart in style a little bit more recently, for a while there it was getting too close for comfort- you kept copying my mods:D but making them a little nicer

Guys dont get me wrong, just like everyone else I agree that I HAVE TO have repect for that much custom work. I personally dont like that look, lowered is cool with me, but i dont really like frame dragging lowered. It's my opinion some of you might think that my stock X looks crappy, oh well its your opinion, more power to you. If you dont like 4x4 or lifts thats aweosme, everyperson has their own taste. If I had a 5.0 then I would probably drop my X too (not air ride). I got the SOHC and did a lot of thinking and as soon as I get some cashflow then I'm going to lift. I mean it's my opinion that I don't think that lowering a truck that much has too too much functionality.

Listen, I was just giving my criticsm, hell I love most of the lowered X's on this site I think that they look awesome, and I give TONS of respect to the owners for spending the money, and taking the time to drop. I just was saying that if I bought that car I would not want to spend that much money on it and have it riding on a trailor.

Listen, I don't want to flame, and I don't think that lowerd explorers are bad or anything, it is just that for the ammount of money that that person spent, I would like to drive my car around everywhere. Just my humble opinon, I'm sure others would disagree, and thats great one could argue it out for days whether it is functional or not. Heck if you want to PM me, I would rather not becasue there is no right or wrong answer, it is an opinon.

Sorry for the longish type post, but I got to get going soon, so I thank you for taking the time to read my long and boaring post. I wish you all the best of luck

post the specific thing
I thought saying it was too low was sprcific, but sorry about that. What if I say I dont like the air ride...

Too much slam. That color combination makes it look like it belongs in a Carribean parade!

Ya'll need to realize, you can drive that truck everyday just like an ordinary X. In fact, that thing probably rides better than any X without bags. You know what they say about bags, rides like a caddy. Air bags ride sooo much better than torsion bars as long as they are done right. And yes, that is a lot of money. But you know what, its worth it. I'm in the process of bagging my X right now. And I drive it everyday. The main customizing shop around here even has a body dropped F350 Duallie riding on 22s. And he tows a 60 ft enclosed trailer with it. And he even drove it all the way to Las Vegas from Memphis and back. Form doesn't always have to follow functionality. I even have shaved door handles. And its great for lazy people. U just push a button and the door pops open. You don't even have to pull a stupid door handle. You people need to realize all these slammed trucks are just as functional as regular trucks. They are just able to slam their truck to the ground, and your not able to do so. And these people choose to make their's a trailer baby as I call them. And yes, i think that is stupid. If I build something, you will see me driving the hell out of it. Thats just my two cents.

99exEB1- your opinion is respected here, whether i agree with it or not. i still dont think you see my point, and thats prolly my fault for not articulating it well. i will give it one more try, then i will give up. i promise. :p

to streeters, a bagged and/or body dropped truck is the ultimate. its the same for us as an offroad X doing a solid axle swap. if you dont like bagged trucks, thats fine. all i ask is that we get the same respect we give. look at it this way-

Hartman busts up in the middle of Taxman's SAS thread and posts the following...

its ok, but i just dont care for solid axles. they're not very streetable, and i just dont like a truck that sits that tall. but, i appreciate the work.
now, Hartman's ficticious post was in no way offensive, and in no way out of line. it was, however, out of place. if he doesnt like solid axles, doesnt have an offroad truck, then why is he stating this opinion it in the SOLID AXLE REGISTRY? now imagine not only Hartman, but 10 other streeters saying various things. its not what you say, its were you say it. all i ask is that people look at the forum they are in before they post. if i told Robb his truck was too tall in a "lift thread" i would be a dumb@ss.

this is the "sport truck" section, not the "no lower than 2 inches" section. no one is pissed or offended, it just seems strange that there are alot of out of place posts in here.

EDIT- Hartman likes lifted X's. i just used him as an example.

james t - Awesome point, I'm totaly sorry man!! Usually I just check out this thread to see some of the awesome lowered X's here, and yesterday after I saw that I posted my opinion. I'm totaly sorry and I did not mean to offend any one or get anyone pissed off, if I did I apologize again:D . End of story - I'm sorry that I posted that there. It's kind of hard to explain, but its not like I posted in the sport truck section to be an A$S or flame, its not like that at all most of the trucks I see here look pretty damn fine, its jus that I personally didn't like that. Sorry about the crappy explination, I just can't really put it in to words too well. Oh well sorry again and I hope that no one thinks I'm an @ss for posting that. 'Cya guys later...

That truck looks awesome...

...trailer queen or not. It is not everyday you come across a modified truck like that.

If it impress HARTMAN, it must be worth looking at.;)

Alright,

I didn't read all the posts in this thread, and I don't think I need to.

If you have a problem with sport trucks and are always gonna dis them, then don't post in the sport truck forums. These forums are for tips and constructive criticism, not flaming. If you can't state your opinion in a nice way or will never have a nice opinion about sport trucks, stay out of this forum.

Now, go on discussing the orange Explorer please ;)

Awesome...

Functional or not, that is just awesome... nice combination of colors too.

I think thats the best point that has been brought up in this whole thread.

I totally agree with you!!!

I went to that show it was spring fling in panama city. yes that x has a stock floor body drop but YES he did pay somone to do it all and he knows nothing about it. I asked him how much off the frame they took off and he said 5 inches and theres no way they took off 5 in of the botem and i also asked if he had to raise the motor at all and he said yes about 5 inches so i was like man leet me see under the hood and he poped it and there was no intake pipe or maf or filter he just had the tb sitting there. I am all about bagging somthing and bodydroping somthing but i say do it your self and if you pay for it to be done atleast know what all is done.

Yeah I partly agree with that. On his StreetSource page, he makes it seem like his buddies did it for him. If so, that's not as bad.

That is a LOT of work though, I didn't know the motor was lowered.

i luv that x so much even tho i'm mainly a first gen. x guy.....ne x that low deserves respect

I think its pretty cool. I like just about any modifications done to stock vehicles. Lift it or drop it just dont leave it alone! Unless its a 96-97 Chevy Impala SS, what a car :)
Anyway dont let the hatters get you down. Not everyones cup a tea but neither is lifted vehicles.
Effort allways pays off in my opinion.

I think that Ex is great just because it's so rare. You don't see many of those. That's why it caught my eye and its picture is still in my head.

Although I do agree, at least know what's been done to it. Oh well.
