Size wise they look great,:thumbsup: but not diggin all black wheels.
I'm still waiting on tires, I have the same color unit.

You need to get yourself a 'Photobucket' or 'Imageshack' account.

@cvillanu
Please keep us updated w/ your 55w HIDs. You're the only one I know of that had gone 55w (everyone else is 35w). Let us know if it melts your housing or causes any problems later down the road b/c I would really like a brighter light (i've got 35w 6k).

I'm not a fan of black rims but yours looks pretty good. I think it's b/c it has the silver lining accenting its shape. And I think you should paint your roof rails blk, that'd make it look more aggressive imo

Damn! the Black wheels really goes well with the color, and the size is perfect.

Looks pretty good. I clicked expecting the worst, but I like it! Im also curious about the HIDs.

Never noticed the the 'silver edging' on the wheel spokes, does makes them look better to me...but still too black, and no lip...but I DO like them style wise, not blingee/ghetto.

I like your idea about painting the roof rack black! Who has had them off? Easy, without damaging them???

Jetz , yeah if it wasn't for the "machined"
trim around the spokes I would not have
bought them. Also wanted to keep it low
key & not too blingy with any chrome. I will
keep you guys posted on the HID lighting. Just
installed the 35w HID foglights w/6000k bulbs
as well. Would like to thank all of your inputs
and for everyone sharing the knowledge
and experience in this forum!

Also, forgot to mention, after bolting on
the rims, the TPMS warning light never
Lit up like I expected. I assume everything
is working as normal and sensors good to go.

The thing about going with even larger wheels, it makes the stock brakes look weenie. I'll be there soon.

Nice look, how does the lower profile tire affect the x's ride?

Had the stock set up on for only a day before
the swap. But, really don't notice a difference
in ride quality. Still comfortable. Discount Tire Direct
did a good job with the mount and balance.

Black wheels on that color combo works well, this Explorer stands out nicely.

Jetz,
Yeah, your right. I'll eventually have to do something with those weenie looking brake setup.

Haven't seen anyone take them off or paint them yet.

The 2011 Sema show should have give us some good ideas. There's one with a awesome looking "Baer big brake kit." I bet it cost a pretty penny though. I'm probably going to go cheap and do some painted calipers or something whenever I can save up enough for the rims

The ride has to be a bit stiffer since there isn't going to be much flex in the sidewalls. Also, best to stay away from curbs and potholes.:D

By comparison to my Acura with 245/35/19 tires, I've had them on for aprox. 5 years now and running onto potholes hasn't been an issue as far as blow outs on the tires or bends in the rim. It also rides like stock. I'm sure it does ride a little more stiff than stock but BARELY noticeable. With 40 series tires, its even less of an issue.
