new struts?

So I have suspension problems.......... I don't have any cracks that are common on the springs, but when I go over bumps (all the time with out AWESOME roads in the northeast) I get a bumping sound. It reminds me of a motor mount thats shot or non existent. Question is, do I just get new quickstruts all around or have a shop look at it to see what part is no good? The way I see it, if the springs are a known problem, it would be stupid to just replace whatevers no good.

it could be anything . . .i'd try to nail it down first before you start throwing parts at it, you can spend a lot $$$ and its still there.
Bump noises usually are related to the sway bar end links, about $20 each
then ball joints
control arms
when shocks just wear out and usually don't make noise. When mine where shot i could feel the cement 'cracks' on the freeways. . no noise however.

Definitely check it out before buying parts, check all of your rubber mounts, they can crack and break apart, especially in cold weather, and you'd hate to buy a set quickstrut then find out a $10 bushing would have fixed the problem.
