I finally decided on getting one Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1. I have heard some rave reviews of it and I like the idea of some clean but loud bass. I have also heard however that too much power kills this sub. It is rated at 350/1400 watts (rms/peak) so what amp should I use? I am thinking of just getting a class-D mono 300 watt RMS amp like *gulp* sony. Also I need a box, and a place to put the sub in the car? I think I'm going to build my own unless I find a good price on a really good brand pre-fab. Any suggestions for me?

a good 300 watt amp will work really well with that subwoofer.

if you want to buy a really good subwoofer box check out www.speakerhole.com

their boxes are built from 3/4" MDF and braced really well. i've never seen a better prefab box. and their slot vented enclosures kick ass!

Kenwood KAC929 -> 300 rms @ 4 ohms
Phoenix Gold QX350.2 -> 350 rms @ 4 ohms
Profile CL600M -> 300 rms @ 4 ohms

unless anyone has any horror stories with any of these amps I'm gonna run my sub @ 4 ohms with whatever I can get the cheapest out of the three. Any input?

any of those amps will do fine.
