I work in IT, and tinker with everything.
Has anyone updated the new SYNC update themselves.
Or do I need to take it into the dealership.

When I had my Challenger, I found a site that had the ISO images and was able to update the navigation and gracenote updates, and it took about 30 minutes of my time.

Being a techie, the Explorer is amazing.

Thanks for reading.

No legal way to get the images. You have to take it to the dealer at this point.

Dude, if you can find a way to fix it, you'll have lots of customers!

The ISO images were from the company that manufactured the OS for the MyGig and all we did was burn it to a CD-R and install it. Nobody altered or modified the image, the web site just provided access to it before it was known by all the dealers.

Ford will allow minor updates through the syncmyride web site but major firmware upgrades will need to be done at the dealer.
