Anyone got a good reccomendation on stock replacement tail lenses, something that's not going to fade out in a short time?

Also, does anyone have a source for the old totally clear tail lenses? I know that they're not DOT legal in and of themselves, but in Oregon, the requirement is for reflectors, and they're not required to be in the lens.

Since I'm going to custom bumpers, I was going to install red reflectors/markers on the rear and sides of the rear bumper to meet this requirement and stay legal, and would like to get my hands on the clear tails.

Any help is appreciated!

Newp. :(

The ones I saw a couple years ago weren't "crystal clear", but had no red or amber reflectors in them. They were a translucent deal.

Supposedly taken off the market because they weren't DOT-legal (gotta have reflectors, and nobody was installing secondary reflectors.

Sorry, forgot to mention that this is for a Gen2 Explorer...

This is the ONLY pic I can find, I looked on ebay and looked on google. these ones right?

If so, then they are really rare. They pop up on ebay every once and a while, and a lot oo times they actually have black lines around the edges of each 'light area.' But some are completely clear.

Try procarparts.com I'm pretty sure they still sell the "old school" clear look you are looking for. As others have mentioned, scour ebay for the taillights you are looking for as well. I'd try to steer clear of Altezza's- contrary to popular opinion, IMO the look incredibly tacky and will most likely fog up with condensation/leak. Good luck!

I would really like to know where to get these as well, they seem to be as close to something that OEM might put out.
