I have a 06 eddie bauer 4x4 4L I have Michelins 235/65R18 on there now. I blew out one today. Are there any recommendations of which is the best tire, for the money, to buy? I intend on buying 2.

First you have a 4x4 vehicle depending on how much wear is on the old tires you may have to buy 4 new tires. What happens it the old tires will be smaller diameter and it will cause 4x4 to be engaged all the time and will cause damage.

On to tires if everything checks out ok with the old tires and you only buy two tires then you should stick with the same tires as the old. If you have different tread patterns the car may not handle the way it should (particularly in rain and snow).

For specific tires thats up to you. Good brands are Michelin(they are not cheap), Yokohama, General tire, dunlap, pirelli (again they are not cheap), and continental. Most tires are pretty good as long as they are a known brand. I run falken tires as my summers and they are great in rain but are a little noisier. For winters I have dunlap tires and they are awsome.

Thank you, that is why I am going to buy two, not just one. I was thinking about buying the same tire. Having trouble finding them, no one seems to have them stock.. I have even heard Michelin has discontinued that actual tire. It is seeming more and more, that I will have buy 4 tires now or more than likely when the other 2 wear out.

you still may run into problems with two tires that what I am trying to point out. in that thread I posted that's what they did and ran into problems.

here is a story that just happened to my parents they had Michelins on their navigator that are 2 years old with less than 20k on them. what happened is when they went to switch back to them from the winter tires I found a cut in the sidewall. anyway they had to buy 4 new tires because the wear was just enough that the shop would not allow just replacing two tires. The actual tread on the tires was 9/32 and the new tires is 11/32 the old and new tires are the same brand and model.
