is the drive shaft still installed in the car, if the drive train is all there, front shaft, or rear, and its still rolling, most likely the park paw in the trans is busted.

also blown or broken axles, diff can cause the truck to roll in park.

can you have someone safely look under the car when its rolling if the drive shafts are turning?

one person inside to hit the breaks someone to look ... or a mirror,

it sound like i got robbed with the deal but the XLT is in mint shape inside and the engine only has 37,964 on it i am taking it haD 137,964 since it only has 5 numbers on the clusters.all the drive train is there if the drive shafts are still turning i should look at the park paw

i really wanted it to be a saveable trans, can i get it rebuilt for under 400 somewhere

yeh if the shafts turns i would be more inclined that its in the transmission.

if the shafts dont turn, i would say rear, axles that area. or front diff.

is this a 2x4 or 4x4 does it also do it in 4x4 if its a 4x4....

its a 4x4 i locked my front hubs and drove it around a corn field and the 4x4 seems to be working fine.it just will not stay in park for **** i have to use the ebrake and i am kinda worried because i use it to respond to fire calls and scared i wont rememeber to use the ebrake when i get out..bottom line i need adivce on fixing it i am on a tight buget due to having 2 yound kids

The thing i am looking for would it be my park paw? If i find it broke is it something that i can replace my own self with out droping the trans since i will be able to see it when i drop the trans pan?COuld it not be staying in park bec it might be low on fluid??JUst so many ?'s...lol i hope someone can give me some kind of advice
