New to me 93 Sport leave it as is or add mods?

No doubt! I especially like the white color, with the snow. You can blend in about 8 months out of the year, I bet.

I was gonna say in my earlier post, I agree with you about the chrome, that's gotta go. Paint it black, it will look 100% better.

It looks like the fender tupperware has been removed. That's pretty good clearance for 35's though. Are you sure those aren't 32 x 11.50's? or x 12.50's? They look like real fatties under there, or either that's more than a 5.5 inch lift. I have to remind myself that's a Sport though, it sits a little higher than a 4-door.

As far as the $500 goes, if the truck runs ok, I would save the money for when something does go wrong. It even looks like there is some tread left on those Mud Kings. Otherwise you can use the $500 to get it running again. Like I said, if it runs its a sweet deal!

Actually the truck is silver, looks like white in the photos though! The tires are 35's.

I've seen the truck up close!

You haven't seen me in it. I have to drive to fairbanks to get it. Will probably have to rent a truck and car transport since neither of my Explorers are big enough to pull a car transport and the Explorer. If you have seen it in Eagle River it was probably the previous owner that worked at our plant in Birchwood. He lived in Eagle River. I guess the current owner must have bought it at the used car dealership and then transported it to fairbanks. Sounds plausible since he is stationed at Eilson AFB and may have come to Elmendorf AFB and saw the truck. It has been sitting since September. He claims it runs just fine. Will have to verify before parting with cash.

If you gave it a good once over then is it actually a 5.5" Superlift or 6" Skyjacker like my co-workers are saying?

It's amaizing how things work out! Congrats on the truck...$500, WOW! It looks like a great vehicle just for the great outdoors. Since your in Palmer with no I/M a 400 small block would be interesting. I've seed it done in a '89 Bronco II. It would be bad to the bone! However saving money just incase something breaks would be a good idea. Like the saying goes..."You get what you pay for." Hopefully you get lucky and have no problems.

Well if the engine goes I might consider something like that.

Did you get a good look at the lift when it was on the lot? Was it a Superlift or Skyjacker?

From the pics, it looks like superlift.. and i think the forsale thread said it was superlift, and there was some welding needed to be done to a drop bracket...

It was hard to tell with all the Alaskan road grime on it but I believe Superlift. From what I've heard, Superlift brackets are a bit thinner than Skyjacker.

If I were you, I would get some extended radius arms! I don't thiny it has any, does it?

I'm jealous!!

(EDIT) I just looked at the pic and it looks like it has them! If so...SCORE!!

You can see in the pictures it is a Superlift 5.5 stage II kit witjhthe Extended arms........most likely the infamous drop bracket crack is what needs welding.......

I bet its a spring over in the rear........

Nice truck for $1000! Hreck in parts alone its worth 3 times that (if you can find buyers :))

RFR2212

How do you like your Skyjacker Radius Arms on your '91 Sport? I want to get those when/if my lift gets in!

I also have the Skyjacker arms on my 88 BII (exact same as an Ex, even D35 TTB). I LOVE THEM!

I am running the following lift:
James Duff 3" VR coils and drop brackets
F-150 spring seats
Superlift 4" rubber brake lines
Superlift 4" drop pitman
Skyjacker extended arms and tranny x member
Skyjacker 4" rear leafs springs
Rancho 9000 RX shocks

It rides like a flippin luxury car now, I cant even believe this is a Bronco anymore!

Off road this setup kicks ass, of course I havent had a chance to wheel with the new rear leafs or shocks, I just installed them in the last two days........

Here you can sorda see the arms, notice the old leafs ,- 3" blocks, and crappy Duff shocks.......

what is he using for his breather? hahaha.

Yup thats the Superlift spring over kit.....with Skyjacker shocks, go figure! hehehehe

I also dont see an axle tag, usually mean the ring and pinion have beenchanged out....come on lockers and 4.56's! That would make that $1000 go even a little further..........

Thanks for the low down on the radius arms. BTW, your link isn't comming up, says page is unavailable.

I have the 4' Trailmaster on order. I hope to use it with my F-150 coil seats and a SOA in the rear. I will probably have to remove the rear load spring i order to make it level with my Warrior shackels. Send pics!

What the heck is that squiggly line thing above the axle on the drivers side? It looks like some kind of brake line or is it an air line? Or is that the spare tire cable?

RHET, thats his extended breather tube for the rear axle, he is running a similar tube up front.

To get the picture to show up you have to cut and paste the link, you can also use this one:

I see Skyjacker shocks. Maybe that's why everyone around my work was saying it was a Skyjacker lift not Superlift. That would be great if it had a locker and was regeared. I was wondering what the hose was at first I got the thought of Air Locker, then realized it wasn't stupid me. Sounds like I get to do a little bit of Detective work on it. Whats the fastest way to check for a locker without removing the cover? And remember it needs some work before I can really test it out.

fastest way is to drive it............

Well Until either I get it welded or replace the part it will only go slow. I guess I will decide how bad I want to know later and if I can't wait I'll pull the cover and look.

Pull one of your front wheels up on a bank at an angle and flex the suspension. when your rear wheel comes off of the ground and spins...you have OPEN DIFF, if it keeps crawling and no spin...LOCKER.
