Thanks for the help when I was looking for my 'new' rig - the forums have been helpful. And a bit entertaining.
I just picked up a 2008 Sport Trac XLT 4x4 with under 70k miles and the 4.6L V8/6spd auto transmission.
I've had Explorers, F150's (and 250's and a 350), Rangers, a Bronco, and an Expedition. Hopefully, the ST will be turn out to be a good compromise of everything that my previous vehicles have done in part.
That said, I had it out in the hills this morning, and heard the rear hitch hit the ground a couple of times, so it will need to be going a bit higher. It looks like it should clear a 32x10 tire as it sits, which will give me 1 1/4" to start.
It looks like it would be pretty simple to re-engineer the rear crossmember (and bumper) to get rid of the 'drop' in the hitch, and bring it up straight to help, too. Thoughts?
