Hi.
I was the happy owner of a 2002 Explorer, with the 4.0, until the dreaded timing tensioner problem. I decided to trade it in against a 2006 XLT 4.6 3V with 54k miles. I am more than happy with the upgrade. I am shocked at the differences in ride quality, and cabin noise. I will be replacing the factory radio with the Pioneer AVH3600 I had in my 02...just waiting on my new fit kit and harness to get here from Crutchfield.
Look forward to learning more about the 4th Gen Explorers.
