New to this forum. 2002 tranny issues

Hi My name is Scott. I own a 2002 Ford Explorer. I was driving it one day and the overdrive light started flashing. When I parked it and went out to get in it to drive it 20 min later it wouldn’t move. Forward backward nothing. It doesnt even try to go in gear. I thought the shifting cable may have broken. That isn’t the case. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

have you tried it in 4x4 if it is a 4x4? Could be a converter failure or internal parts are broken. The unit will need to be replaced or rebuilt. Not the news you wanted to hear.
