Hey everyone, just wanted to share my great news with everyone. I walked into a ford dealer this afternoon with my mom to look at the Ford Edge Sport for my mom, she loved it, and my folks are hopefully gunna go get it this weekend.

I in the mean time was with another sales guy who found me a gorgeous ford explorer. Its a 2006 X Eddie Bauer with the 4.2l v8, fully loaded every option but the entertainment system, and the 4wd.

This is my second explorer, the first one was a 93 X eddie Bauer, white on beige just like the new one!

Very excited to get out of my Audi and into another explorer. Even though that S4 Audi was nuts, it wasn't ever like my explorer, nothing compares!

Haha, well I haven't taken really any pics of it, but for the forum, I ran outside and snapped these quickly, enjoy!

@ Project_Exploder: I loved my audi, it was a blast, but practicality wise, it sucked. Yes it fit 4 ok, but it guzzled gas, I had to pay every year $1k in "gas guzzler tax" which I dont have to pay in the Explorer. I am a very outdoors kinda guy, so I love going and doing things like biking, surfing, skiing, etc. The audi served as just a commuter car to school and back, and was one crazy shop queen. My folks wouldn't let me take out my explorer much because it "didnt have airbags" so they were always worried, and would only let me take it to the mountains, or small trips. I have always been a suv/truck kinda guy, so when I saw this baby at the dealer, I knew it was my calling..

Plus, with the trade of the S4, my good credit, and rebates/incentives I got the payments down to $210/mo for 4 years, and that includes Fords premium warranty that covers everything bumper to bumper and for 2 yrs I get free oil changes, and maintenance. So when I really looked at it from an economical point of view, yes my audi was worth soo much more, but I was at the shop every other month with three figure bills! This car, is fully covered, and the payments are no big deal.

Very nice -- and I noticed they both match as well.

I'm curious about the lower console too? Is it just the lighting, or is it really grey? I would start to "wonder" if it is grey...

Yes the console is gray. Is it not supposed to be?? The console looks brand new.. maybe they changed it out at the end of this guys lease? -- Anyone have a pic of a beige console?

Its not supposed to be Grey. They are matched to the rest of the dash. I would be checking for anything weird. Get a carfax report to. Last thing you want is a flood car or something.

I would make the seller provide the correct colored console. But, it's probably too late now. Why would that ever need to be changed. I've heard of lids cracking/wearing out, but the whole console?

All Eddie Bauer's have the lower grey console. Along with the half & half grey trim on the doors, seats etc. I have the same. It's standard.

thats the sudede/moss option. most eddie bauers had the two tone tan full leather interior.

LOL, WHAT!? You traded in a f'in B6 S4 for a ford explorer. LOL... please guys don't be mad at me, I love explorers, I really do. But really, why!? I just dream ALL day off having a B6/B7 S/RS Audi. I've been working my tail off to get one, a B7 RS4. I'm getting closer every day, hopefully I'll be pick up a Ibis White one next summer. Cant WAIT! I'm sure your the first and the last person I'll ever hear going from a S4 to a explorer. I almost can't even believe that somebody would do that, either you never had a S4 or you just got unlucky and get a really crappy one with problems. But if thats really what your happy with than congrats!! Have Fun! They are great trucks. And were you on Audizine?

Ahh -- that's nice -- once you get the whole picture. I have not seen that interior before. The EBs I've seen had the std. tan.

I found out what it was....

In 2006: All explorers EXCEPT for Limited had grey center consoles.
In 2007-current: All Eddie Bauers and Limiteds with beige interior got beige consoles, and grey interior got grey..

After people started telling me to watch out with flooding and stuff like that I went right back to Ford and they took out brochures of 2006 to show me there findings.

Sucky part was, I didn't just go to find this tidbit of information out, I also found out that I had a nail in my tire.. Thank god for the CPO bumper to bumper warranty! They replaced my tire out free! WHOOT WHOOT!

Uhhh I had a 06 EB with the nasty camel interior and my center counsle matched the rest of the dash and door panels. wierd huh.
