2021 Hybrid limited
We have love the Explorers, we have a 2017 Sport and then the 2021 Hybryd Limited. Both great vehicles. Our issue is that the Limited is showing corrosion issues on the wheels, the vehicle is below 30k miles, garaged and we keep it clean. We are seeing issues with the tires loosing pressure. Having taken it in several times, we were informed of this issue. It is possible that the fixes won't work long time and that we may have to actually replace the wheel at about $1k a pop. This is not covered by our warranty. Our next step is to contact Ford corp and start a dialog with them. Is any one seeing a similar issue and if so, do you have any suggestions on a path forward. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is a really odd issue. Do you have any photos showing the corrosion?

My 2010 Lincoln had this issue and the tire shop machined/sanded down the corrosion on the inside of the wheels and the leak was fixed. My sister also had this issue with her 2008 Audi A6. Here is a discussion and solution of this common mostly alloy wheel problem:

Since your vehicle is so new, it may have somehow gotten moisture or water inside the wheel. Hopefully it wasn't a flood-damaged vehicle!

Thank you. No it wasn't in a flood and it would appear to be all 4 wheels. We were wondering if it is a reaction for the nitrogen and the aluminum alloy. We're still in the early stages of this issue. Again, thanks for the response and the article.

Welcome to the Forum.
Aluminum body panels are covered for 5 years but the Warranty Guide doesn't make any mention of wheels at all. Nitrogen will not cause rust or corrosion on steel or aluminum wheels.
