New, with a few Q's.

Hey, I am new here and was hoping I could get some ideas/pricing on some mods to my '91 XLT 4x4 Explorer (Automatic V6 4.0)....

She's pretty clean, mostly a pavement queen with a few minor off road experiences, and a couple joy rides in Hollister.


Funds are limited, just a teenager with a minimum wage job. And I'm looking into getting a 2-4" lift, and upgrade to bigger tires (32's would be nice). Also, I dont have much time (between work and school) to get in real deep with anything major.

I know the bare basics about off road mods, so dont get too crazy with me.


If anyone has the same kind of upgrades I'm looking for, and has some ideas/help and a basic idea of how much it costs (or anyone with ideas for that matter), I would like your input.

Do you have original spark plug wires? Get the best you wires you can afford, how about a K&N filter. Do a search on cleaning you sensors like the MAS. Just a few ideas.

Yeah, I'll have about 1200 to play around with over the next few months.... I planned on getting a K&N Filter along with new exhaust.

I did some research and found that a 3" body lift can be had for cheap...so I was wondering what the major cons are with those.

I figured that a 3" body lift, along with new tires would put me in the $800-$900 range (correct me if I'm worng). Then I'd have 3-4 Hundred left to get new exhaust and intake.
