Well I got the X home and love it. Way complicated, so it will take some time to learn everything. I'll post updates when I have time but need to get ready for business trip.

Problem...

I got the X home and replaced the dealer license plate brackets with some from Weather Tech. While trying to secure the front bottom of the plate, using a bolt and nut, the small nut slipped out of my fingers and (I think) since I can't find it anywhere else, either fell through the air dam grate, or fell into some the inside of the upper part of the dame. I used a flashlight and couldn't see it anywhere in side the dam (in front of the radiator grill?) and can't get to anything that would tell me for sure where this small nut went.

Do I worry? It may fall out or just slide around in there, but I can't be sure where it is, I just know it's not on the ground that I can see.

*#$&(@#*$^(@#&$^(*^#*)

It should drop out. However, you can take the lower grille out. If you pull it out away vehicle it will pop loose. There are plastic tabs around the outside of it, but it's not hard to get out. If you do that, you can get in and find it.

Or, go buy one of the magnetic part finders and go fishing in there :)

Ayup, fishing with a magnet sound's like a plan. Damn air dam.

I read the beginning and was scared you jammed a screwdriver into the bumper!

Thanks guys. I can't believe I did this. Sigh. I thought of the magnet avenue, but the only magnetized thing I could find in my garage was the extension for my drill/driver. I tried that for 2 seconds and then imagined dropping that in too

I'll probably try Sears when I get back from business. They must have some flexible type magnet tool. This must happen all the time.

And, no screwdriver through the bumper. What I actually did was drill a small hold behind the bottom two license place holes through the license plate bracket (I double checked no bumper right behind where my holes were. I then put 2 bolts through the holes and was working on threading the second of the 2 nuts onto the bolts when it slipped. Boy was I mad ;)

Thanks for then encouraging words :)

Also, for those that are reading this thread, did you know if you set the Compass to show on the right hand LCD, you also get a little Speed Limit sign (maybe only if you have Nav?) that shows the posted speed limit on the road you are on? Too cool

I have never noticed that, but I have only had the compass up a couple of times (probably when stopped in a parking lot). Good to hear that it's there, I loved having it on my Garmin.

Yup, there's the speed limit. I probably never would have noticed that if you hadn't posted about it. Thanks!
