Hey all,
New to the forums, had a quick question about the idle in my '97 Explorer XL. It's happened twice in the two months that I've owned it. The idle will go really low, I would estimate like 250-300 RPM in park, and then when I shift to D, it dies. I can drive it okay if I "manual idle" by keeping one foot slightly on the gas at all times. Once I get home, I'll let it sit for a while, and then go out and start it again and no problems. Very odd. I'm sure someone else here has a lot more mechanical experience than I, and will know what I need to fix/replace to stop this from happening. I'm sure it can't be good to be on the brake and gas at the same time in D, so I'd like to stop having to.
Bone stock, 130K km, all regular maintenance done on time.
Thanks in advance!
