Newbie Question On CEL

Please forgive this question, I am new to OBD systems. My check engine light comes on when I turn the key on (engine not running). Then is off when running. Is this normal, may be just to show the CEL bulb is ok.

Every time you turn on your Ex, your system will do a self diagnosis to make sure there are no problems. I'm sure you see your airbag light come on, then go off.
Same thing. That's your Ex making sure its ready to roll.
Computers.....go figure
