Newer 5r55E in old build date

Having transmission woes in my 2001 4x4 Sport with the old build date but I found a recently rebuilt 5r55E out of a 2001 4x4 Explorer with the new build date..

Just wanting to confirm what I’ve read online

This will work and all bolt up and run fine.. I’ll just have an extra electrical plug that I won’t be using since mine doesn’t have the updated transmission?

97-98 will not but 99-11 will

After 99 the 5r55e has a second oss sensor
It also uses a real digital range sensor
Your truck already has these

Otherwise you can use any 5r55e from an explorer or ranger 4.0 all the way up to 2011 ranger and 01 in Explorer, 02-05 in sport or sport trax

Ok.. so no issues with an updated valve body set up? I keep reading that in July 2000 they changed to a later transmission and they aren’t compatible.

But I’ve read of people doing it no problem.. just trying to confirm. Appreciate it

I’ve done it many times we regularly use late model ranger trans to revive older rangers
