Anyone know what seats will work good in an Explorer Sport?...I find the stock seats to be very crude in comfort and want to know if anyone has swapped out a set of BMW or another high end car for better support.

Check out Aviator or Navigator seats with climate control. I've done the Aviator seats. A ton or work due to the control switches in the door, but nice. Older Navigator seats have the controls on the seat themselves and are much easier to do.

I will look at a set of those, however, I do have my eyes on a set of 05 up Mustang seats...my wife has one and those are very comfortable seats...I will compare the 2 and see which one will fit the rump better...anythings gotta be better then what I have...top of the line XSport with crappy seats...no matter how I adjust the seat, I just can't seem to find a setting that works.

By far the most comfortable 'bolt-in' seat is the Explorer Limited Seat.

If you go with the Mustang Seat, you will have to use the rail from your X and bolt it to the frame of the Mustang Seat.

Just got a price for a pair of '08 Mustang seats(cloth) for $250...power drivers seat with the air powered lumbar support...I was shocked at the price...I asked what he charged for ones with leather...$150 each he told me...it really doesn't matter to me cuz I have a upholster guy who will be redoing the whole interior...I was just shocked...in Cali at pick'n pull you can get any pair of bucket seats for $75 bucks!

Access to back seats?

If the stock Sport seats are replaced with ones from a Limited won't access to the back seats be lost?

The cloth on my seats is in pretty good shape but the foam in the bottom section is soft from years of use. I feel like I'm leaning toward the door. Does anyone know if I can swap just the seat cushion part between driver and passenger? Then I wouldn't feel like I'm falling out of the vehicle. Any other ideas?

CobraGuy, did you do a write up on the Aviator seats wiring? I have a 98 Explorer and I'm about to try and install the Aviator seats I brought with the cool and heated seats. I could really use some info on the wiring. Sorry don't mean to steal this thread.

Tip for you at the pick 'n pull- our yard craftily charges as much for the tracks as they do for the seats themselves. When I pulled my Limited seats, they wanted $35 for the seats and $40 for the tracks. Since the tracks are the same, and I was reusing mine, I saved $80. You shouldn't need the tracks, just about every Ford seat will fit Ford tracks- save some money :)

Where'd you get that quote? I'm looking at changing out mine for newer (can only go '06 I believe, or else the Stone color goes bye-bye), looking at front and second row buckets with console. I don't really use the third, so I'm not too worried about them matching. Hopefully Eddie Bauer or Limited.....

How did you make out with this? Any tips? I've got a 98 sport, looking to do the same...
