I gotta find a stub shaft first. Bronco Graveyard has the generic 4340 ones for $64. I am just glad that the long section is good since that is my custom lake axle which = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I wouldn't recoment the JBG ones, they are the universal yukon chromos that chris and I have both had problems with... If you do end up getting generic ones get them from randys, they are much better then JBG with warentes.

I just finished fixing my axle from the last trip, ready for another run...

On that side it's okay. I would rather hash the stub shaft every trip than bust the inner on that side.

first big snowfall, we'll head to the hills:chug:

Are the snow runs day trips or do you camp then too?

The ones I went on last year were day trips.

We were thinking day trips to Evans Creek before they shut down for the winter or just seeing how far we can make it into the hills above Wilkison. I want to say that you can reach close to 5000 ft up there, Should be lots of snow to play in.

When is it that Evans closes for winter dec15th?

The 15th is what I herd, should be lots of snow up there by then.

15th

Yah, the 15th. Was just reading about the area this morning

Got me a new hood ornament. Not quite as cool as "FJ", but I like it.

We looked for a log but everything was to small and I wasn't going to cut anything down... He wanted to upgrade to a 31 spline anyway. Besides, we are getting much faster at getting him out, what was it? Like a half hour and he was out last time? Way better then the first time... You already know where to park for a winch point anyway :D

So what do you guys think? Plan a trip to Evans in the snow? Try for suprise lake or above Wilkison by Ceader lake? I know Evans had snow last weekend and its going to get cold this week.

Cool part is you can take the FS road down to the Carbon River Road from Evans Creek and up to Surprise Lake for a nice combo or if one or the other don't work out. Dam, Surprise Lake in the snow? Sounds freakin' COOL!!!

I don't know?? My gps tracks from last winter show the road as Nf-7920 which is Tolmie Creek. The last road report dated 10/20 shows it open????? Maybe it will close after December 15th as the rest? I could easily enough run out and check it out soon ...... or just call the ranger station
