ok....nitrogen doesnt carry moisture, oxygen, and other corrosive gasses that are present in the air, and its not as expansive.....how do you get 100% nitrogen in your tires. you would have to have two valve stems in your wheel to "flush" out the regular air? any way you may wear out tread before the oxygen does....i do agree with the water issue though. if you air up on a hot summer day there will be lots of water in the air. when the temp goes down the air cant hold all the water that it did before and it condences....if there is enough water build up over time you can cause balanceing problems...but thats it....as far as whats inside causing problems, all that stuff and more is outside on the tire, why do you not see every tire rotting and falling apart? the water and expansion thing are the reasons super fast cars fill with nitrogen. everyday drivers dont need it...just put a water trap on your compressor.
oh yea....be carefull not to fall into the statistical boobie trapp. it may save the transportation industry money when you are talking about hundreds of tires going millions of miles and you can go 2k more miles if you used nitrogen. but thats spread over all of the tested tires so you may only get 20-30 more miles per tire and since tires usually dont wear out one at a time you have to divide up the test base by how many tires the test vehicle has.....oh no im in the statistical boobie trapp
I just used a vacuum pump that I use for refridgeration to draw out the air and moisture. then put the nitrogen in. I travel 700 miles every weekend through the desert. I drive between 90 and 100 miles per hour. That is why I decided to try the nitrogen.
Your X properly set up? 90-95 in an X shouldn't be SCARY...Ive drivin mine till it ideled out (racing a mustang). The engine just kept reving to max RPM and wouldn't push the truck any faster. <--THAT IS SCARY but im FUBARed...
P.S. Yea, my friend Brian in the stang, he chickened out at like 95 b/c we were in a 35MPH zone guess i win another one
