Im most likely going to be staying @ the cedar creek camp ground in bayville. Its on rt 9 which is a main road down there. I tried posting directions but the link wont post right. Just search for cedar creek camp ground on yahoo its in Bayville.

And the WOBM pit is less than 2 minutes from there. It would be a good place to start on friday night if any one is gonna be going down then. BTW so all you know if you see mud and dont know how deep it is DO NOT RUN IT. There are pits down there that look like theyre a foot deep but could swallow a fullsize. I tried to run a hole that was about 20 ft long and about 6ft wide but i only got about a quarter of the way in before my frame got hung up on the center section. I saw the hole when the water was low and the thing was over 6 ft deep! I was down there last night and i saw it and if i didnt know any better id say it wasnt deep. my rule of thumb is if i dont see any tire tracks going in or out of it i wont touch it.

to get to the cedar creek camp grounds from the Garden State Parkway south are as follows.

Youre gonna take exit 74 off the parkway and after the toll your gonna turn left and head down that way on lacey road. (basically follow the signs for rt 9.) your gonna drive about 5 minutes till you come to route 9 then youre gonna turn left again onto rt 9. youre gonna drive about another 5 minutes and the camp ground is gonna be on your left hand side. There will be a sign there for it you shouldnt miss it. If you go past the cowboy you know youve gone to far. The cowboy is a place we all can eat. Behind the cowboy is a place we can go wheeling friday night. Im going to be going to a place called the elbow that we can go wheeling saturday ill hopefully have directions to that place in a couple of days. If any one has any questions you can call my on my cell phone 908-646-4119.

hmmmm.. lets try this, get off at exit 74, make a left, then go about 25 feet, then make another left, follow sand till you come to a right turn, (also sand), follow down and to the left, come into huge opening, sand and mud ..... dig out beer, and comsume. then continue to party till you cant even tell which rig is yours, mission complete!!!!

Cool, I guess Lizard knows where we are going. what about fishing? :)

I like lizard's plan, Iam game for that

I always go on

The Miss Chris..... Cape May.....go to the end of the parkway south....make a right at the Captains Cove resteraunt and you will literally run into the Miss Chris Marina... I'm going fishing this weekend... rain or shine... so I will ask about group rates and stuff like that... anyone have a deep sea pole ...bring it....they sell rigs there cheap... leaves 9am for 6 hour fishing and at 8am for the 8 hour fishing...summer flounder

night fishing leaves at 7pm.. 8 hour fishing for Drum fish... Now this is for May.... in June they will still be day fishing for summer flounder and wreck/reef fishing for Toug..Ming or Black Sea Bass....night fishing will probably turn into Blue fish. That runs that way most of the summer...until late August ....then stripers and winter flounder..... Drum only run for a short time but they are a hell of a big fish...

I'm going night Drum this Saturday....I'll let you guys know how it goes...

Hold On! Where are we Wheeling, and Where are we fishing? Lacey, (where the Elbow is) is no where near Cape May. If anyone knows of any places further south Jersey to wheel, or any places further north to fist, please post. As it is, I think everyone has confused each other. Namitey, Stop Saying we've been to a few places down there. We've been to one small pit, WOBM. I for one, would like to make my way down to the pines that weekend, but am lost as to where we can go. I have heard of a few places, but have not been there personally. The two I have heard of is Lebanon and Atison. If these two name sound right, could some one find some info please? I want to make something out of this plan, if not, I'm still going camping, somewhere. Sorry for the length, but this topic is running around in circles. :)

huh what where who? i wasnt aware i said i had been any where else. *is to lazy to read his last posts*

Well like I said

I don't know anything about the Pines other than I'd like to start going there for some trail runs. I tried asking around on the RRORC board but I guess they aren't interested in telling me where they go. Maybe if one of you guys ask around over there they might tell you. All I know is that I am going fishing on Sunday whether I go wheeling or not on Saturday. I plan on making my way down to Ocean City to my sisters summer house on Saturday night...that way I will be only about 45 mins from Cape May.... there are plenty of camp grounds in the Cape May area also. I don't mind the travel since I don't have to work that weekend at all..so anywhere you guys want to go ...whether it be North Jersey or South Jersey...doesn't matter to me.

From what ive heard the guys who know about places to wheel in south jersey will not post it on the internet because they dont want everyone knowing where they go. Some places down at the shore are private property so there is no littering no digging ruts and other rules that the locals know but outsiders wouldnt. The local people dont want thier privliges taken away because someone went and littered or was a jerk at a certain area.

Well

I tried asking around down there this weekend....everyone seems pretty closed mouthed about it..... so.....unless someone else has some ideas...I guess I'll either scratch this idea or head on up to Paragon again...

Anyway the fishing was awesome this weekend.....got 11 Sea Bass and 4 flounder....... still didn't get the damn pool fish... biggest flounder that we caught was 19". .....but from what I can tell....this just may be the year for fishing......it has been pretty bad the last 2 years...

Karol, check your PM's

I any one still going. I have no idea of a location but like the idea of camping and wheeling.

i am w/ CADDYBILL on this, like the idea of wheelin my new used truck( 99 ranger) and camping, also would have liked to go on a party boat to do a little fishing.

Anyway I have to work that Fri till 11pm then it is a 3-4 hour drive to the pines depending where everyone meets up.

Muskrat, exploreNJ and I went wheeling down in lacey and the surrounding area on memorial day. We where able to make a day out of it (sorta). I know of about 4 places down there and I think i can find another (maybe). The locals down there get a little scary at night but i think if your in a big enough group you'd be ok.

so what going on about the pines or is this offical called off. what about upstate with lizardtrac

I think I might be able to manage this trip if everybody could get together on it...I'm up for the camping and mild offroading, maybe the fishing too. Any swimming up there?

Spas, I'm up for it, Namitey and I may run down to Wharton State Forest to see if there is anything down that way, and I was also sent a list of places to go wheeling down there. Be forewarned, There Is Mud, and it may be DEEP. Also, If anyone could run a search on ORV areas in NJ, please do so, I would but my computer is the slowest thing imaginable.
