2012 Explorer XLT
Hey Guys,

I just got a 2012 Explorer XLT, and if any of you are like me, we need to do up our rides to our liking. So, after weeks of looking and looking, why can't I find aftermarket things for the explorer? I had heard from someone that Ford killed the aftermarket for anything Explorer. Is that true? So if I want smoked tail lights, I have to spray them myself? Or change all the chrome to black.

Can someone shed some light on this? And if you know of a site that has things, please feel free to advise me.

Thank you.

Ford has no say in aftermarket products. Oh, and reducing the output of your brake lights is dangerous, and has no place on public roadways.

While I totally agree on the tail/brake lights, the Sport trim comes with both 'smoked' front and rears.

I see you've already been pointed to the "Modified" subforum. FYI, as mentioned above, the Sport has smoked tail lights but I'm not sure if they will fit your 2012. The Sport came out in 2013.

Those are different animals as they are fully DOT approved unlike anything you do to modify your lights.
