Wow, what an big pain!!

Hey, are you making sure to put the right fuses in? Just curious...

Also the multimeter has the neg and pos probes, black and red, respectively. To check the fuse holder put the neg and pos probes in each of the slots for your 2 prong flasher fuse and tell us what you are getting voltage wise. You also might want to pull the flasher bulb and test the neg and pos wires to see if you are getting voltage back there.

the fuses are the corectone according to the owners manual and i tested the flasher terminal as well as the fuse terminals. my flashers work inside and out and so do my brake lights but there has to be a leak somewhere because it took out my alternator and i keep burning up fuses

Hey I have an update. So the trailer brake wiring was the cause of the no brake lights issues got that all ripped out but i still didn't have turn signals I talked to a mechanic and he told me to check the 194 side marker bulbs, he said that since they have such a small filament sometimes when they blow the wires inside will fuse together and short out your system. I changed out both blown bulbs and bingo LET THERE BE LIGHTS!
Thanks everyone for your help!

I feel really stupid now that I went through all that and it was just the damn bulbs when I went to take care of the fixit ticket the police lady said it happens all the time and that she had one guy who paid a shop $793 to track an electrical issue strait to a light bulb that had shorted. Glad I didnt pay anyone though!

yep those light bulbs will fubar ya evey time :p:
(good to know tho if i have the same issues...i know where to look now)

good that it was that and not something else that could have caused a electrical fire .i had a dakota some years ago and the truck was fine electrically but every now and then i would turn on the key and watch all my guages ( all of them mind you ) go to their fullest readings ...no problem tho ...justa slap on the dash and they were back to normal . i traded that truck off since then and glad of it .

I think on some vehicles the gauge sweep is normal at start up but its always good to get rid of dodge there a b***h to get parts for. I LOVE MY FORD!

i dont think it was designed to do that because it would only do it every now and then ,but your right about dodge tho ......whoo-ho glad to get rid of that thing ....metal on the body was too thin and the motor and transmission both started to go belly up only after 110k ....crap

damn i have 214,000 miles and i just replaced the trans I LOVE MY FORD!!!!!!!!!!!
